Snips – These are important tools for all HVAC programs. They include straight, left hand and right-hand snips used for cutting sheet metal.
Safety Glasses – These are important for protecting your eyes from chemicals, dust, impact, heat and optical radiation.
Manometer – This instrument is used to measure and indicate pressure.
Jumper wire – This is normally used to interconnect the components of a breadboard or other prototype or test circuit without soldering.
11-1 Screwdriver & Nut Driver set– As an HVAC student, you will need to have both Philips and Flathead screwdrivers for work and school. The screwdrivers come in different sizes.
Refrigerant Wrench – This is used to access refrigerant within air conditioning systems.
Scratch Awls – This tool is used to pierce holes and scratch lines on various materials like light-gauge metal.
12” Folding Tool – This is ideal for HVAC applications such as 3/8-inch folds for drive cleats and 1-inch deep folds. Folding seams are formed from two steel halves, permanently joined together.
Crimpers – These are used to conjoin two pieces of metal by deforming one or both of them to hold each other together.
Swaging Kit – This is used to allow copper pipes to connect without a coupling.
Sheet Metal Scribe – This will help scribe commonplace trim lines on galvanized sheet metal quickly and accurately.
Straight Seamers – This is used to bend, shape or flatten the sheet metal used in ductwork.
Reamer – This is a type of rotary cutting tool used in metalworking. They are designed to enlarge the size of a previously formed hole by a small amount but with a high degree of accuracy to leave smooth sides.
Tape Measure – From measuring ductwork to furnaces, vents or air conditioner units, HVAC technicians are constantly using a tape measure.
Pliers – Long nose 6” and 10” pliers come in handy for numerous tasks on the job site.
Pipe Wrench 12” – Pipes of varying sizes require you to use different size pipe wrenches.
Wire Strippers – The wire strippers assist in peeling the wire’s covering back.
Mini Mag-Lite – HVAC service technicians always need a reliable flashlight to accurately assess the heating or air conditioning situation.
Hacksaw – This is the best saw to cut through materials in most HVAC jobs or situations.
Multimeter – This safety device is used when working near electrical hazards and live wires. It detects the presence of electricity and the voltage.
Hex Key Set – These have numerous purposes for refrigeration.
Aluminum Folder – You will use this clipboard when going to different job sites to contain your paperwork.
Tubing Cutter – This tool is able to cut through copper tubing.
PVC Cutter – This tool is used to cut through PVC pipes.
